Environment is key.

At Dawn Expeditions, we emphasize conducting the most eco-friendly yet luxury trips across the East Africa region. We are keen to make traveling sustainable too for future generations. In this regard, we have taken our little steps to ensure that in our business operations, we have a significant positive impact to the mother nature and to humanity too. Below are some of our active programs that we are keen to ensure that they thrive and have landmark impact to the globe:

  • Afforestation program.
  • Glass bottle program.
  • Local Tourism promotion

The above programs are our pilot programs that we have taken and ready to see their ultimate success.

1. Afforestation

We have active programs to actively engage in well calculated tree planting activities in the region. As a Luxury ecofriendly Tour Operator in the region, we are keen in causing very minimal negative impact (if any) to the environment and hence sensitive on how we plan and executive our operations.

Therefore, we have put in place a program to engage in tree planting activities during our long rains and specific on drought resistance plants species.

Below are some areas that we are keen on engaging in afforestation:

  1. Nairobi National Park.
  2. Tsavo National Park.
  • Chyullu hills.

Maasai Mara

Laikipia.

2. Glass Bottle Program

Since the year 2017, manufacturing of plastic bags was banned in Kenya. To that regard, we have been able to see a significant reduction of plastic bags in our garbage collection points and the streets and parks. As an alternative option for the bags, Kenya as a country is using more multiple use eco friendly bags for shopping and storage.

We commend the government’s initiative to take the bold yet positive step in securing our environment. At Dawn Expeditions, we are proud to use these multiple use yet environmentally friendly bags during our operations.

We have gone a step ahead to ensure that during our operations, we desist from using plastic bottles as much as practically possible. Alternatively, we have ventured in recyclable glass water bottles to dispense our water.

At the properties level, we have taken note of the environmental nonsensitive properties who are also keen to eliminate the plastic bottles to work with.

At the local level, we are keen to support the glass recycling plants in East Africa as they are fundamental in this whole program.

3. Local Tourism Promotion

Traveling is a way of learning!

Different people travel for various reasons, but the general denominators are leaning and having fun.

For some reasons, some people might not be able to travel for various reasons which could be but not limited to the following, Lack of awareness, financial constraints amongst others.

At Dawn Expeditions, we come in to create awareness and showcase what the East Africa region has to offer in different angles. We go out of our way to offer as many travel tips as possible to make one safari a memorable one too. In this case, we target the local East Africa citizens and focus on the destinations right “out of their doorstep”.
